America’s Test Kitchen – Farmhouse Vegetable Barley Soup

Hello and welcome back! I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying Summer 2022.

Today’s recipe is from America’s Test Kitchen, Plant Powered, 95 Plant-Based Recipes to Fuel Your Day (magazine). A great value and addition to your recipe collection.

You can find a more fulsome publication from America’s Test Kitchen titled, The Complete Plant Based Cookbook (500 recipes), on Amazon Canada for $39.60 (paperback).

My reasoning for selecting this recipe is two-fold. Firstly, I adore a vegetables. Secondly, I am always down for making delicious, healthy, home cooked foods.

Delicious and Affordable Ingredients
Fresh Herbs, White Wine, Shallots and Potatoes

No idea why I thought it was a good idea to include an empty bowl and measuring cup in the above photo. My food photography skills will, with time, improve (fingers crossed).

Sautéed Carrots, Celery, and Leeks

I enjoyed making this recipe. The instructions were easily understood, the ingredients affordable and readily available in my local grocery store.

Farmhouse Vegetable and Barley Soup

I’ll never say no to the gift of having home cooked.

Will I make this recipe again. Definitely.
